Get to know our trainers – Josh Whiting
Next in our series of ‘Get to know our Trainers’ is Personal Trainer Josh Whiting. Josh is a level 3 personal trainer at The Health Hub. He specialises in strength training and helping clients to get stronger while enjoying exercise! Josh also teaches low impact synergise, cardio and abs blast. Get to know a little bit more about him:
How did you first get into fitness?
“I first started getting into fitness to improve my football, training full-body 3 times a week. I also used to do cross-country running so I used the gym to work on my cardiovascular fitness.”
What is your favourite aspect of exercise?
“To see how far I have come and the progress I have made.”
What is your favourite type of exercise?
“Power building – cross between strength and bodybuilding.”
What would be one piece of advice you would give to someone starting their fitness journey?
“Nail the compounds to start with, get you form right before progressing the weight!”
Your go to easy dinner?
“Pizza!”
When you lack motivation how do you not let that affect you?
“Stay disciplined and if the session isn’t the best, try again tomorrow!”
What is your main fitness goal?
“Just to get stronger, all round.”
How are you working towards that goal?
“I’ve created myself an 8-week programme, and I’m documenting each week on social media. This gives me time to work out what works and what doesn’t before I go onto phase 2 which is changing the programme up while making progress.”
How do you like to spend your down time?
“Playing Xbox, socialising with friends and my girlfriend.”
